Michael “Shane” Osborne, age 53, of Traphill, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Atrium Health-Wake Forest Baptist-Wilkes Medical Center. He was born January 15, 1969 in Wilkes County to Terry Lane and Carolyn Wiles Osborne. Shane was a member of New Covenant Baptist Church and a former dispatcher with Wayne’s Poultry. He also enjoyed visiting friends and relatives, holidays and special occasions. His favorite past time was gospel solo singing and being in a quartet. Mr.Osborne was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his mother, Carolyn Osborne of Traphill; sister, April O. Edwards of
Wilkesboro; nephews, Brendon Wiles of Boone, Collin Edwards of Wilkesboro; niece, Lauren Edwards Byrd and spouse Matthew of North Wilkesboro; great nephew, Calvin Lane Byrd of North Wilkesboro; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2022 at New Covenant Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Reavis and Brother Larry Adams officiating. Burial will follow in New Covenant Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at New Covenant Baptist Church from 12:30 until 2:00 on Saturday, prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Jamie Prevette, Darrell Prevette, Devin Prevette, Tracy Anderson, Justin Wiles, Danny Wiles, Jr., Terence Shumate and Gray Blackburn. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Wiles and Jessie Prevette.
